SEND Youth and Sports Assistant
Zakaria Osman, who goes by Zak, serves as a football coach at PTSA and holds multiple roles, including coaching the pre-academy and foundation phase for under 6-8 teams, as well as coaching the SEND men's and women's teams.
For Zak, Pro Touch SA marks the initial step in his football coaching journey, as he envisions it as a platform to attain additional coaching certifications in the near future and contribute to various communities. He has a personal connection to PTSA, as his past involvement with the organization transformed his life positively, enabling him to embrace challenges, enhance his knowledge as a sports enthusiast, and learn how to bring out the best in those around him.
During his academic years, Zak attended two special needs schools, Queensmill School from 1998-2005 (primary school) and Swiss Cottage School from 2005-2010 (secondary school). Throughout this period, he engaged in sports coaching through sports leadership programs, where he completed Level 1 and Level 2 coaching qualifications while coaching a variety of sports.
Zak pursued Art and Design at Levels 1 and 2 at Westminster Kingsway College in Kings Cross from 2010-2012. Subsequently, he shifted his focus to study Video Production/Interactive Media at DV8 Training in Walthamstow from 2012-2013. From March to June 2014, Zak participated in a 12-week traineeship through the BBC Stephen Lawrence Trust at Westminster Kingsway College in Soho, focusing on Video Production/Interactive Media.
In June 2016, Zak achieved FA Level One coaching certification following a 4-week coaching program at Market Road Football Pitches in Islington. He obtained the FA Level 1 coaching badge along with First Aid and Safeguarding certificates during this course.
Zak is recognised as a strong team player with exceptional organisational skills, and he consistently demonstrates a positive attitude and punctuality. Beyond his involvement with Pro Touch SA, he enjoys activities such as going to the gym, swimming, outdoor cycling, taking long walks, and pursuing photography. Additionally, Zak is a certified Barista with expertise in specialty coffee, currently employed by Gather and Gather, based at University College London. He has been a part of the coffee industry since 2017.
